This EU funded programme is an important initiative to support the increased competiteveness of the regions in Serbia. Firstly to  help generarate sustainable employment and to develop the capacity for the regional development of Serbia, aligned to European Best practices.

This Component of RSEDP 2 Programme is about a new approach to the economic development of seven districts in the Republic of Serbia, which are not currently served by Regional Development Agencies (RDAs), and the technical assistance that will be provided to support municipalities to collaborate, build capacity and create the conditions for employment creation.

Municipalities recognise that they face similar economic challenges and opportunities. They repeatedly stressed the necessity to pool their limited financial and human resources in order to jointly develop projects, which would focus on the creation of employment for their citizens. RSEDP 2 will provide the opportunities and technical assistance to municipalities to facilitate collaboration and to support the design and development of employment creation projects.

The focus of this component of RSEDP 2 Programme will be placed on the following seven districts:

  • Severno-Backi;
  • Zapadno-Backi;
  • Juzno Backi;
  • Sremski;
  • Macvanski;
  • Kolubarski and
  • Rasinski.
